Rural Women Empowerment programme in Shaki, Ago Are and Tede in Oyo state

The aim of the project is to provide skil improvement to the rural wondm in orcder tio increase profitability of their businesses. The project was supported by grants from UNDP and donations from the Partners of CHUSSDEV.

At the end of the project 15 cooperative societies of Shea butter Associations were formed and empowered to produced triple filtered Shea butter which resulted in improvement of the locally produced shea butter to export grade.

The product was the factories established for the cooperative societies were sent to the Laboratories for analysis and it was rated grade A for export.

 The wpem were also trained on how to package the she butter in modern techniques and packaging . They were also provided with sealing machine and bottling techniques.

 More that 750 women were empowered and a total of 6700 members of their families were indirectly positively impacted.

The women Associations were also inked with the b national association of shea butter in order to participate in the CBN NIRSAL loans for Covid 19 Anchor borrower programme

Today the effects of CHUSSDEV project impact are obvious in the communities and routine Monitoring and Evaluation is being carried out in the communities to ensure upscaling and sustainability of the project in each of the communities
